Clevedon Marine Lake is one of the town’s most treasured landmarks – a unique space where nature, heritage, and community meet. As custodians of the lake, MARLENS works tirelessly to preserve, maintain, and enhance this special place so that it remains open, safe, and thriving for generations to come.
Funding Reality
But we cannot do this alone. The lake is free to use, yet it costs tens of thousands of pounds each year to maintain. From repairing storm damage to keeping facilities safe and welcoming, our work relies on the generosity of our volunteers, the community, local businesses, and visitors who value what the lake brings to Clevedon.
Clevedon Marine Lake provides life-changing opportunities that reach far beyond leisure. The work of MARLENS ensures the lake is accessible to everyone, offering particular benefits for people living with chronic pain, those recovering from illness, people with disabilities, children and young people, and other disadvantaged communities. By creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space, the lake supports wellbeing, connection, and resilience across the whole community.
