This October, MARLENS will once again undertake the Lake Drain Down at Clevedon Marine Lake — an essential programme of cleaning, de-silting, maintenance and repairs that helps keep the lake safe, accessible and ready for the community. The Lake Drain takes place from the 18th October to 26th October.
The Drain Down is also a highly visible Clevedon community event. As the lake is emptied, MARLENS volunteers and supporters work on the lake before the tide returns and the water overtops back into the lake, attracting people to the seafront. Around 100,000 people visit and enjoy the lake each year, making it an important part of Clevedon’s community and visitor life.
We are inviting local businesses to sponsor the October 2026 Lake Drain and help us care for one of Clevedon’s much-loved community assets.
