Drain Down
Twice a year, Clevedon Marine Lake hosts its Drain Down Days – essential maintenance events that bring together our amazing volunteers, local residents, and supportive corporate groups.
During drain down, the lake is emptied to coincide with high tides, allowing us to carry out deep cleaning, dredging with a large digger, and vital repairs. This work is crucial for preserving the lake’s wildlife, ensuring safe use for all, and keeping the space beautiful for future generations.
It’s a true community effort, with people of all ages pitching in to clear debris, tidy the surrounds, and get the lake ready for the year ahead. Once the tide rolls back in and the lake refills, it’s a spectacular sight to see.
Tip: Keep an eye on our events calendar for the next Drain Down Days – it’s a rewarding way to give back and be part of Clevedon’s living history.
- Question? Does the Clubs section click to links to their websites and will you be adding the information that I sent over on the google doc for each club?
- Can you add in a link to the beacon calendar did you manage to look at how to do this yet?
